Morning walk along the Rhine

This morning as I walked along the Rhine the sun was low and provided beautiful color. The Rathaus (city hall) has rich red sandstone but the early morning light made it stand out even more.

It was a cold morning and steam was coming off the Rhine as a barge silently made its way downstream.

I came across two balloons floating on the Rhine, they would circle around with the tide.

In Basel there are three ferries that still are powered by the flow of the river. This one was headed back across to Klein Basel (little Basel).
